This is Paris doing tennis.

The Rolex Paris Masters has been part of the men's game since 1968 and has seen pretty much every generation of great player walk through its doors. Federer, Nadal, Djokovic, Murray — the roll of honour is rather intimidating.

And now the tournament has a new home.

The move to the enormous Plenitude Arena has given the final Masters 1000 of the season a completely different scale. It is big, modern and unapologetically spectacular.

But the thing I love most is the timing.

Late-season Paris. Indoor tennis. The best players trying to finish the year strongly.

And then, outside, Paris.

You really don't need much more convincing.

For Centre Court, I'd choose a side-on seat as close to the court as your budget allows.

The arena is enormous, so being too far away can make the players feel rather small.

Side-on gives you the best view of the whole court and lets you properly appreciate the speed of the indoor game.

But there is another option I really like.

Court 1.

For the newer ticketing arrangements, fans can buy a ticket specifically guaranteeing a front-row position on Court 1, with access to Courts 2 and 3 as well.

If your priority is getting close to the tennis rather than saying you sat in the main arena, I would seriously consider it.

Sometimes the smaller court wins.

Very good.

The new venue has a dedicated practice court, and the tournament specifically promotes the opportunity to see the stars of the circuit practising, particularly during qualifying.

The multiple-court setup also gives fans more opportunities to see players away from Centre Court.

My advice would be simple:

Arrive early.

Find out where practice is happening.

And don't assume that your biggest player-access opportunity will happen during the match you bought the ticket to see.

Sometimes the best moments happen before the player has even picked up a racket for the match.

I'd go if you want the full Masters 1000 experience.

This is the final Masters 1000 tournament of the ATP season, which gives it an extra edge. Players are fighting for one of the last big titles of the year, ranking points and, for some, qualification for the ATP Finals.

I'd also go if atmosphere matters to you.

Paris crowds can be wonderfully expressive, and this is not a tournament where you're expected to sit silently and politely clap between points.

And if you're combining tennis with a city break?

Well.

Paris.

Enough said.

I'd go for a whole day.

Not because you need to sit in the same seat from morning until night, but because the new arena gives you several courts to explore.

Centre Court for the big match.

Then Court 1, 2 or 3 for something you hadn't planned on watching.

The tournament has four competition courts plus a practice court, and the 2026 ticketing setup specifically allows Centre Court ticket holders access to the other courts.

I'd also consider the qualifying rounds if you're able to arrive early in the tournament.

They're considerably cheaper, and the tournament gives fans the chance to watch the stars practise.

And please leave time for Paris.

You have come all this way.

Don't spend ten hours inside an arena and then tell everyone you went to Paris.

file_00000000d380821098809559c7b0d885.png

Absolutely not.

This is indoor tennis.

You could arrive in Paris in sunshine, leave in torrential rain and spend the entire day completely unaware of either.

Which is exactly how it should be.

Late autumn in Paris can be cold, wet and grey, so bring a coat for the journey.

Inside the arena, however, you have lights, an indoor court and absolutely no reason whatsoever to think about where the sun is.

One less thing to worry about.

More time for tennis.

Excellent.

This is one of the easiest things about the new venue.

The Plenitude Arena is in La Défense, and it is surrounded by an almost ridiculous number of public transport options: Metro Line 1, RER A and E, Tram T2, Transilien trains and numerous bus routes all serve the area.

I'd absolutely use public transport.

Driving is possible, but the tournament itself recommends public transport, and traffic restrictions can make getting around the arena more complicated during the event.

And there's another advantage.

If you're staying in Paris, you don't have to organise your entire day around getting to some remote tennis venue.

You finish watching tennis.

You get on the Metro.

And suddenly you're back in Paris.

Which is exactly where you want to be.

I'd skip it if you're looking for a small tournament where the players feel as though they are practically sitting beside you.

This is a huge event in a huge arena.

There will be crowds, security, queues and plenty of noise.

I'd also skip it if your perfect tennis trip involves sitting outside in sunshine with a glass of wine while watching matches on tiny courts.

Paris is indoors.

Big.

Fast.

And very much a major sporting event.

If you prefer charming and intimate, there are better choices.
