TENN360 INSIGHT:

Dubai likes to do things properly. Two weeks, two tours, outdoor hard courts and a cast of tennis royalty — all played against a backdrop of skyscrapers, sunshine and the slightly surreal feeling that February has suddenly become summer.

Centre Court is the obvious choice, with around 5,000 seats and a relatively intimate feel for an event attracting some of the biggest names in the game. Go lower and side-on if you want to feel close to the action. And don't automatically dismiss Court 1 — the tournament introduced a new 2,000-seat show court as part of its redevelopment, giving fans another chance to get properly close to the tennis.

Very good. The stadium complex is compact, and the tournament actively builds fan experiences around the tennis. The additional courts and Tennis Village also give you more opportunities to see something beyond the main show court.

You want both tours in one trip, enjoy big-name tennis, like sunshine rather more than drizzle, or fancy turning a tennis tournament into a proper city break. The combination of WTA 1000 and ATP 500 is unusually good value for a serious tennis fan.

Go for a full day rather than squeezing in one match and leaving. The Tennis Village gives you plenty to wander around, while the compact stadium means you can move between the courts without needing a map, provisions and a small expedition team. And if you can do both weeks, even better: the WTA 1000 followed by the ATP 500 makes this a serious tennis fix.

Dubai in February is practically showing off. Expect warm, sunny conditions during the day, with cooler evenings. Sunglasses, sunscreen and water are non-negotiable; a hat is also a sensible bit of kit. Evening sessions are particularly attractive when the heat eases and the stadium lights take over.

Excellent. The stadium is in Garhoud and is about a five-minute walk from GGICO Metro station, with a free shuttle available. There is also free Park & Ride for ticket holders, while taxis and ride-hailing are plentiful. This is one tournament where getting there shouldn't become your main match of the day.

You are looking for a tiny, intimate tournament where the whole place feels like a local tennis club. Dubai is polished, international and built as a major sporting event. And if you dislike heat, artificial-looking cityscapes or the occasional whiff of luxury, this probably isn't your natural habitat.
