TENN360 INSIGHT:

Tennis by the Pacific, Mexican energy and a tournament that has repeatedly been voted the best in its ATP 500 category by the players. Acapulco has always understood that tennis is supposed to be fun.

The Main Stadium is where you'll get the big-match atmosphere, but don't automatically assume bigger is better. The Grandstand and alternate courts give you a much closer relationship with the players. The venue has a Main Stadium, Grandstand Caliente MX, Courts 1 and 2, plus two practice courts.

Excellent. The combination of the Grandstand, alternate courts and practice courts makes this a good tournament for fans who want to see players outside the main stadium rather than spending the entire day watching the big screen.

You want an ATP 500 that feels like an occasion rather than simply a collection of matches. You like outdoor hard courts, warm weather, lively crowds and the possibility of turning a tennis trip into a proper Mexican holiday. And if you enjoy seeing the stars up close, this venue gives you plenty of opportunity to escape the main stadium.

Don't just turn up for your ticketed match and disappear. Arrive early, explore the complex, watch the action on the outside courts and stay into the evening. Acapulco is at its most enjoyable when the tennis, food, music and holiday atmosphere start blending into one big night out.

This is Acapulco in February. Translation: bring the sunscreen. Days are warm and bright, and there isn't much point pretending your complexion has suddenly developed diplomatic immunity. Hat, sunglasses and water are your friends. Evening sessions are the sensible — and rather lovely — option.

Very good. Arena GNP Seguros is in Riviera Diamante, at Boulevard de las Naciones and Paseo de los Manglares. There is limited on-site parking plus alternatives nearby, and authorities put additional traffic and mobility measures in place around the tournament.

You prefer quiet, understated tournaments or don't enjoy travelling somewhere where the tennis is only half the attraction. Acapulco is deliberately lively. And if intense heat isn't your friend, the afternoon sessions may test the friendship.
